Donnie
Van Zant is truly a rock-and-roll showman. Whether he's flying through a stadium
like Superman, racing across a stage like a tornado, or inciting an audience
into mass hysteria, Donnie's high-energy, onstage antics make every show a
heart-pounding experience.
He leaps, twirls, and jumps in a frenzied ballet, mesmerizing the crowd with his endless bag of tricks. Donnie's engaging personality and spirited performance garners the attention, and appreciation, of every fan in the house.
Donnie is also a compelling vocalist and experienced songwriter, having penned such songs as "Backdoor Stranger," Rebel to Rebel," and "Homeless Guitar."
Although 38 Special is his main priority, recording with brother, Johnny, is the fulfillment of a lifelong dream. "After Ronnie died, I made a promise to myself to carry on for him. I was determined to make it in music as much for Ronnie as for any other reason. Working with Johnny just completes that promise within me." 1
Offstage, Donnie is as dedicated to his family as he is his music. He is a loyal husband to his lovely wife, Ashley, and a loving father to his children and grandchildren.
